Rhythm & Reason

There is a rhythm in love’s song and dance to the soul.
There is a reason in love’s engagement in action.

If 1 Corinthians 13 is the poetry of love, Romans 12 is the choreography of love.

1 Corinthians 13 : Romans 12

Love is patient (v 4) : lives peaceably with all (v 18)

And kind (v 4) : with brotherly affection (v 10)

Love does not envy or boast (v 4) : associates with the lowly (v 16)

It is not arrogant or rude (v 4-5) : seeks to show hospitality (v 13)

It does not insist on its own way (v 5) : never wise in your own sight (v 16)

It is not irritable or resentful (v 5) : repay no one evil for evil, but give
thought to what is honorable in the sight of all (v 17)

It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth (v 6) :
do not be overcome by evil; but overcome evil with good (v 21)

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,
endures all things (v 7) : rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be
constant in prayer (v 12)

The way of Love lends itself to a living sacrifice.

The gifts of grace God deals out are measured by the faith, hope, and love we abide in.
